Nawaar practises in commercial and administrative law. She acts for the Commissioner of State Revenue in bankruptcy matters, and has experience in the operation of the ‘pay now object later’ regime in Part 10 of the Taxation Administration Act 1997. She has experience in recovery proceedings and enforcement mechanisms both against individuals and corporations. She also acts in corporate recovery including matters involving voidable transactions. Her focus is on achieving commercial outcomes.

 

Nawaar has appeared in the Supreme, County and Magistrates’ Courts, the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court, VCAT and the AAT. Before coming to the Bar, Nawaar was Associate to Justice Cavanough of the Supreme Court of Victoria. She previously worked in the litigation team at DLA Phillips Fox.
