Harry practices primarily in Federal and State Taxation, administrative law and commercial law.

 

Harry has advised and appeared for the Commissioner of Taxation and taxpayers in tax and superannuation appeals in the Federal Court of Australia and in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Harry also regularly advises and appears for taxpayers in relation to Stamp Duty and other state taxes in Victoria.

 

Since coming to the bar, Harry has appeared in matters involving the characterisation and source of income, deductibility of business expenses, rights under Employee Share Option Schemes, and PAYG withholding tax.

 

Harry also has experience advising the Commissioner of Taxation and taxpayers in relation to Director Penalty Notices and other issues which often arise out of insolvency and bankruptcy.

 

Prior to coming to the bar Harry was an Associate to Justice Ryan and also Justice Murphy in the Federal Court of Australia. He worked in the tax and corporate departments at Allens Arthur Robinson from 2007-2011 where he acted for clients in a diverse range of matters which included issues of Transfer Pricing, Petroleum Rent Resource Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Stamp Duty.
