David practises in the Federal Court, State Supreme Courts, and the High Court in commercial law generally, including taxation and revenue matters.

He was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 1998 and took silk in 2010. He has appeared in a range of complex taxation and revenue matters during his 20 years as a barrister (see, for example, ANZ Banking Group Ltd v Konza and Commissioner of Taxation (2012) 206 FCR 450 and Bamford v Commissioner of Taxation (2009) 176 FCR 250).

He has particular expertise in matters involving valuation issues (for instance, appearing as senior counsel for the successful taxpayer in Regis Aged Care Pty Ltd v Commissioner of State Revenue [2015] VSC 279).

He has advised both private and governmental clients in relation to numerous significant taxation and revenue disputes and matters, involving both Commonwealth taxes and State taxes and duties.
