Claire is a specialist in taxation law. She also accepts briefs in administrative law, commercial law, equity and mining law matters.
Claire has over nine years of experience advising on federal and state tax disputes, including on transfer pricing, capital/revenue, consolidation, controlled foreign companies, CGT, GST, payroll tax, stamp duty, R&D, royalties and PRRT issues. She has particular experience acting for clients in the mining, financial services, banking and infrastructure sectors, advising on risk review, audit, independent review, objection, ADR and litigation processes. She has appeared in significant tax cases in the High Court of Australia and Federal Court of Australia, as well in Administrative Appeals Tribunal and state Court proceedings.
Before coming to the Bar, Claire was a Senior Associate in the King & Wood Mallesons Taxation Group with a specialist tax litigation practice. She was recognised as a “Next Generation lawyer” for Taxation in The Legal 500 in 2017 and 2018.
Claire has a Master of Laws specialising in taxation law, a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and Bachelor of Arts, each from the University of Melbourne.
