Piotr has broad and deep experience in taxation. Prior to coming to the Bar, he was a solicitor at Clayton Utz, MinterEllison and PwC, specialising in tax advice and dispute resolution. He has also spent time on secondment in the tax team at one of Australia’s largest listed companies. Over the years, he has assisted with tax advice, disputes and litigation, compliance and corporate governance matters.

Piotr holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland, a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne and is a Chartered Tax Advisor. He has presented and published widely on tax matters in Australia and overseas, including for The Tax Institute, the International Fiscal Association, the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation and Bloomberg. He has written an in-depth analysis of Australia’s tax treaty policy for the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, with Professor Miranda Stewart.

Piotr is a member of the Taxation Committee of the Law Council of Australia and is teaching in the Masters program at the Melbourne Law School.
