Louise Martin has a broad commercial and public law practice. She has worked on long-running regulatory proceedings, class actions and corporate oppression matters.
Louise has considerable experience appearing as counsel in judicial review matters, merits review hearings and inquests.
Louise has been briefed by the Tax Commissioner on superannuation surplus payment cases in the AAT and on a long-running promoter penalty case (led by Helen Symon QC and with Sam Ure).
Before joining the Bar, Louise was the associate to the Honourable Justice Mark Weinberg in the Federal Court and the Court of Appeal and the researcher to the former Solicitor-General for Victoria, now the Honourable Justice Tate of the Court of Appeal.
Louise completed an LLM (with distinction) at the London School of Economics and Political Science, writing a dissertation on statutory interpretation.
