James accepts briefs to appear and advise in all areas of commercial law, including tax and revenue.

Before coming to the bar, James was a solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills. During this time, James undertook a secondment to Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills where he advised on a broad range of matters including large infrastructure projects.

James holds a First Class Honours degree in Law from Monash University. He also holds a LLM from Cambridge University where he studied International Commercial Tax. James has a particular interest in the subject of tax avoidance and has published an Honours thesis on Part IVA of the ITAA.
