Eugene has over 10 years’ experience as a barrister practising in tax. He has appeared for both taxpayers and the Commissioner of Taxation in leading cases in the High Court and Federal Court including: AusNet, Orica, SPI Powernet, Australian Pipeline Trust and Financial Synergy Holdings. He acts for clients in the mining, infrastructure, telecommunications and financial services industries, among others, providing opinions and assisting them in their dealings with the Commissioner during reviews, audits, objections and litigation.

Eugene has a Master of Tax from the University of Melbourne where he lectures in the subjects Comparative Tax Avoidance and Tax Avoidance and Planning. He is also a Fellow of the Tax Institute of Australia (sitting on its Dispute Resolution Committee) and a member of the Tax Bar Association Committee and the Victorian Bar Readers’ Course Sub-Committee.
