Ben practises in federal and state taxation law, public law and commercial law.


Before coming to the Bar, Ben studied as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, was counsel assisting the Solicitor-General of the Commonwealth, an associate to the Honourable Kenneth Hayne AC QC of the High Court and a solicitor in dispute resolution at Freehills for four years, where he practised in tax litigation and acted for clients such as BHP Billiton Limited, Chevron Corporation and Woodside Petroleum Limited.


Since coming to the Bar in 2014, Ben has provided tax law advice and appeared in relation to litigation concerning Bell Resources Corporation Limited worth over 1 billion dollars in the High Court of Australia, land tax appeals in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria and in matters in the Federal Court of Australia. Ben is a member of the Victorian and Western Australian Bars.
